Don Bosco High School & Junior College, Borivli

Teacher’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Don Bosco High School and Junior College on 5th September 2024, honoring the hard work and dedication of the teaching faculty. The celebrations began with a solemn mass, led by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Flovi D’Souza, and co-celebrated by other members of the management.

In his homily, Fr. Flovi touched upon the various challenges teachers face in today’s rapidly changing world. He highlighted their crucial role in shaping young minds, thanking them for their steadfast commitment to the students and their well-being. He further emphasized the importance of following the Don Bosco way, urging the teachers to not only educate but also be present with their students in times of need, offering guidance and care in both academic and personal matters.

After the mass, the school community gathered in the school hall for a vibrant cultural program. The program began with a floral Guard of Honour presented by the students, followed by a beautiful welcome dance by the Preprimary section, setting a festive tone for the event. Fr. Rector then addressed the gathering, appreciating the teachers for their efforts and encouraging them to continue their noble work with enthusiasm and love.

A heartfelt address by a student from the NIOS, thanking the teachers for their support, particularly in the face of academic and personal challenges, was an icing on the cake.

The cultural program continued with an energetic dance performance by the Primary section, adding excitement and joy to the event. This was followed by a special felicitation ceremony organized by the members of the Don Bosco Alumni. During this segment, the teachers were honored with small tokens of appreciation, while the College section performed a melodious song that left the audience in awe.

A colorful dance by the Secondary section brought an air of excitement, leaving the audience wanting for more.   The College section too wowed everyone with their dynamic and energetic dance performance. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Fr. Principal, who once again expressed gratitude to the teachers for their dedication and service to the students and the institution.

Following the cultural program, the students were dispersed, and the teachers stayed back for a series of fun and engaging games that had been organized for them. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and camaraderie as the teachers participated with enthusiasm. The day came to a close with a hearty and sumptuous meal, leaving everyone with a sense of joy and fulfillment.

The celebrations were a fitting tribute to the teachers, recognizing their invaluable contribution to the school and to the lives of their students.
